NY/NJ METROSTARS TICKETS ON SALE TOMORROW
Tickets For Historic US Open Cup Match At Outlets For Next Six Days

The Round Three, Lamar Hunt US Open Cup match at Berkley's Hurley Field next
Wednesday will feature the upstart Mid Michigan Bucks of the Premier
Development League (PDL) versus the league-leading NY/NJ MetroStars in the
long-awaited debut of a Major League Soccer (MLS) team in the Detroit area.
Public sale of a limited number of tickets begins tomorrow, July 10th
(through July 15th), at seven Bucks Ticket Outlets: George's Soccer in
Lathrup Village and Troy, Soccer Plus in Livonia, The Trading Post in
Plymouth, Global Soccer in Lake Orion, the Berkley Parks and Recreation
Department and Total Soccer in Wixom. Adult General Admission tickets are
$15 and Youth (under 19) General Admission tickets are $10. Group discounts
($2 off each ticket for orders of 10 or more) are available only by calling
the Bucks directly, by July 14th, at 989-781-6888 or via email at
info@mmbucks.com.

The now Detroit-based Bucks previously hosted the Tampa Bay Mutiny (1999)
and the Miami Fusion (2000) in the United States Soccer Federation's premier
national tournament, at their former home in Saginaw. In four previous
meetings with MLS teams in Open Cup play, the Bucks have lost to the Mutiny
2-1, beaten the New England Revolution 1-0 (at Foxboro Stadium in 2000 -
the first-ever upset of an MLS team by a PDL squad), tied the Fusion 3-3
(but lost in penalty kicks, 6-5) and lost a re-match with the Revolution at
Foxboro in 2001, 7-1. "If we can give them a game, the fans are in for
quite an experience," said Bucks general manager, Jim Duggan. "I still meet
people weekly who want to talk about the Tampa Bay or Miami games." Both of
those games drew more than 4,000 fans to Saginaw's White Pine Stadium.

"Our fans in Detroit will get to see the best team in MLS, in a game that
matters, against their hometown underdogs. For a lot of us, it doesn't get
any better than that," summarized Duggan, ignoring the obvious mismatch of a
Division IV (amateur) team taking on the top Division I team in America.
The Bucks' roster includes 23 amateur players with local ties and no
professionals. The winner of the July 16th contest meets the Columbus Crew
of MLS on August 6th in Round Four (round of 16). Gates open on Wednesday
at 6:00pm and kick-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.

WIN OVER WEST MICHIGAN PUTS BUCKS AT 12-2-1
Two goals from Paul Snape and one from Simon Omekanda lifted Mid Michigan
Bucks to a 3-1 victory in Holland over the West Michigan Edge (5-9-2) on
Wednesday night.

BUCKS FACE KALAMAZOO KINGDOM ON SATURDAY
The Bucks will play their final regular season home game this Saturday at
Plymouth-Canton High School against rival Kalamazoo at 7:30pm. Tickets are
available at the gate for $9.
