MICHIGAN BUCKS TOP FT. WAYNE FEVER
Minor League Soccer Team Wins Third Straight, 5-1

Knox Cameron (University of Michigan) scored three goals and J.J. Kabwe (Zimbabwe) added two assists as the Michigan Bucks (8-3-2, 26 points) kept their Premier Development League (PDL) playoff hopes alive with a 5-1 victory over the second-place Fever in Ft. Wayne Friday night. Cameron now has 14 goals on the season. The Bucks, with three games remaining still trail the Fever (9-4-1, 28 points) and Indiana (10-4, 30 points) in the race for the Great Lakes Division's two playoff spots. Jeff Wiese (Oakland U.) made six saves in net for the Bucks.

"I was proud of how our guys kept playing when things weren't going our way," said Michigan coach, Don Gemmell. The Bucks went down 1-0 and had two goals called back on close off-sides calls in the first 15 minutes. "Offensively, we started using the flanks better in the second half and that made a huge difference. I feel like the team is starting to all be on the same page and taking pride in the little things, like making the extra run without the ball and working harder defensively. But we still have three tough, must-win games left," said Gemmell. Michigan travels to Cleveland, a team that gave them fits on Wednesday, on Sunday before returning home for their regular season home finale on Wednesday, July 14th against the West Michigan Edge, then finish at Toledo on July 17th.
