| BUCKS OPEN WITH 5-0 WIN AT INDIANA Minor League Soccer Team Impressive In First Game The Michigan Bucks kicked off the 2004 season with a convincing 5-0 victory over rival Indiana in Premier Development League (PDL) play. The Bucks swarmed the Invaders with high-pressure defense all game and dominated from start to finish. Knox Cameron led the way with two goals, while U of M teammate, Mychal Turpin notched two assists. Simon Omekanda, Kevin Taylor and Brian Ombigi each scored as well. Jeff Wiese recorded the shutout in net for the Bucks.
"I am proud of how the boys did all the dirty work for each other - great unselfish play and work rate. We moved the ball well offensively and defended as a team," said coach Don Gemmell. The Bucks travel to Holland Saturday night for a match against the West Michigan Edge, then return on Tuesday, May 18th for the Home Opener at Hurley Field against the Fort Wayne Fever (7:30pm).
