| Mid Michigan Bucks Press Release July 18, 2003 Contact: Kyle Karns (989) 781-6888 info@mmbucks.com Bucks Drop Second Straight Kalamazoo Hands Mid Michigan Their Third Conference Loss, 1-0.Coming off the heels of a hard fought battle against the NY/NJ MetroStars the Mid Michigan Bucks (13-3-1) traveled to Kalamazoo on Thursday to play against the Kingdom (8-7-2). The game proved to be a midfield battle as quality scoring chances came few and far between. Bucks keeper, Jeff Wiese, kept the game scoreless going into the half with 3 spectacular breakaway saves. Shortly into the second half, Kingdom's Ali Lukungu scored the games only goal with an assist from Trent Miller. The Bucks in need of a spark on the field, went to their bench in the second half making four out of their five substitutions. However the Bucks found themselves coming up short with these fresh pair of legs as well. "It was evident that some of the guys were still tired from last nights game, it is hard to play a full 90 minutes two nights in a row," said assistant coach Dan Fitzgerald.
The Bucks will now turn their effort towards the last game of the regular season this Saturday in Fort Wayne against the second place Fever (10-5-1).
